I am registered to conduct weddings and Civil Partnerships in Scotland. They’re great fun to be involved in as a celebrant. It’s rewarding to be involved with a couple from the planning and creation of the ceremony to the delivery. In my view, a wedding works best when the couple have as much input as possible and when there is a supportive, professional working relationship with the couple and others involved. I always adopt a team approach, especially with the prospective couple but also with venue staff, photographers, musicians and others. If you choose me to conduct your naming ceremony I can help you to choose the right music, poetry or prose as well as structuring the ceremony in a way that you feel comfortable with. Naming ceremonies are not only for babies and toddlers, but also for anybody changing their name for any reason, for example being adopted. I’m happy to talk through all the options with you to help you decide if I am the right celebrant for you.

The death of a close relative or friend is always a difficult time. I always work closely with you and the Funeral Director to ensure that the funeral goes smoothly. I am very empathetic and have appreciated positive feedback from relatives who have found my approach supportive and helpful. I can help you to choose music, poetry and prose. I will write a funeral script that includes a tribute to the deceased. This is based on the stories about, and memories of the deceased, that the relatives recount during my meeting with them. I deliver the tribute on behalf of the close relatives, so they are involved in reviewing and agreeing the ceremony from start to delivery.
