Choosing a Celebrant can be an absolute minefield - am I right!?

Having recently got married, I know how tricky it is to wade through dozens of profiles, hoping to find someone who seems like the perfect fit for you, capable of working alongside you to make your special event, well...special!

I am committed to writing ceremonies which provide couples and families with exactly what they are looking for - if you're looking for a Celebrant who is highly personable, very easy to get along with, and committed to getting every little detail right for you, I could be the one!

I've included some basic background information for you below to give you an idea of what I'm like as a person and as a Celebrant, but I'd recommend having a quick flick through my website or one of my social media profiles for a more accurate idea of whether I might be the right Celebrant for you!

I grew up in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire and have worked in North Lanarkshire Primary Schools for almost 20 years, where I am currently still working part-time as the Depute Head Teacher of a large primary school and nursery class. In 2020 I fulfilled my lifelong dream of moving to the west-coast town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, where I live with my wife Angela and our baby daughter, Maura. Family life by the seaside is beautiful, chaotic bliss.

I am very warm, empathetic and creative. I believe firmly in the immense value of human connection and my biggest motivation in becoming a Humanist Celebrant is that I am doing work which makes a genuine and memorable positive difference in people’s lives. I feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to write and lead bespoke, meaningful ceremonies for couples and families across Scotland.
