Although I am originally a Falkirk Bairn (brought up in Stenhousemuir), I am now a fully acclimatised Inverclyder, living in Quarrier's Village, with my husband Martin-we have two grown up children. As well as being a celebrant, I am also the Humanist Chaplain at the University of Strathclyde, and a schools visitor, helping teach Humanism within an education environment, and I also write and conduct fully inclusive school assemblies. I am also a member of the Scout Association, and I am a pipe band maw. Before having children, I was a professional actor, a journalist and did my general nursing training. Since having children, I do a lot of public speaking, Burns Suppers, and a wee bit of stand up. Gets me out of the house.

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies
I love spending time with my wedding couples, because when I write their ceremonies, I want their personalities to shine right through. A wedding ceremony should be personal to each couple, and it should fit them-it should be romantic, exciting, funny, emotional-all of those things, as long as it suits them. A wedding ceremony should be comfortable. And perfect. I do feel that being part of a couple's marriage ceremony is a privilege, no matter where we are, whether it is in a hotel, on a beach, in a living room or round a bonfire, in the sunshine or in the rain. Or the snow. Or in a loch. When a couple messages the day after their wedding, and says that their ceremony was the favourite part of their day, I know I have done my job right.
Funeral Ceremonies
Being a funeral celebrant is the most rewarding job I have ever done. I genuinely enjoy helping families through a difficult time, and, making the final goodbye to their loved ones as good as it possibly can be-a personal, sincere and dignified celebration of life. Stories of real people, written with heart, told with a smile.
