My name is Lindsey Brunton and I have always been a humanist – but I just didn’t know it! Humanism is a positive approach to life which believes that we should try to live the best life we can and try to help others do the same by being kind, compassionate, tolerant and respectful. We only have one life, so we should try to live it to the full.
I live in Stirling with my husband Kevin, who is either working or playing golf. Our daughter Lucy has recently left home to live and work abroad so I am still getting used to having an empty nest! I have had a varied career from working overseas as a Holiday Representative with Thomson Holidays to being HR Manager with a camping company but I have always worked with people and genuinely enjoy interacting with them. I decided I want to change career and do something more worthwhile and satisfying so decided to train as a Humanist Celebrant. I can honestly say it's the best decision I ever made! I am proud to now be a fully trained, registered and insured member of the Humanist Society Scotland ; the largest and longest-standing provider of humanist ceremonies in Scotland.
I am available for weddings, naming ceremonies and funerals and whether it is joining together 2 people in love, welcoming a new baby into the world or saying goodbye to your loved one, I shall work closely with you to create, write and conduct a ceremony which is unique and personal to you.
I am based in Stirling which is a central location so am happy to travel to meet you to discuss your ceremony or you can come to me. I also speak reasonable Spanish and French so could conduct services, or part of services, in either language, here or abroad (South of France is my favourite destination (!!) but I am happy to travel anywhere within the central belt of Scotland and beyond!).
I have given you a brief description of what I do but if you have any questions, drop me an e-mail or if you would rather chat on the ‘phone, please feel free to give me a call.

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies
There can be nothing more joyful than seeing 2 people in love making a life-long commitment to each other, in the presence of all of their friends and family. We will work together to create the ceremony YOU want and it can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. I can guide you and give you lots of ideas but you will choose what you want included, so that the ceremony will be personal and meaningful to you both.
Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies
Humanist Naming and Welcoming Ceremonies are a great way to welcome and celebrate the arrival of a child into your lives, whether it be a new baby, older child or adopted child.
It will be a unique and memorable day and a great opportunity to mark this special moment in your child’s life with all of your family and friends. You can have poetry, music, symbolic gestures, pledges, Guide Parents – or not. It’s up to you!
We will meet up and discuss what you want in detail to ensure that you get the ceremony that you want.
Although the loss of a loved one is an extremely sad and difficult time, I shall do everything I can to ensure that the funeral ceremony is as uplifting and memorable as possible and a real celebration of their life.
I shall spend time with you and obtain all the information I need to write a fitting tribute to your loved one which truly reflects their character and personality. I shall send you a copy of the script in advance to ensure that you are happy with it and after the ceremony, will give you a copy to keep.
Please note that there may be some additional costs, such as for travel.
Amounts shown are the fees charged by the celebrant - read more about what you can expect to pay for a Humanist Society Scotland wedding.
