Ceremonies performed: Weddings, Naming Ceremonies, Funerals

Hello! My name is Pamela and I’m a celebrant certified to carry out Wedding & Civil Partnerships, Funeral and Welcoming & Naming Ceremonies.
I’m a Glasgow girl living in the north of the city with my partner, Stuart, eight year old son and wire haired fox terrier, Betsy.

I’ve been conducting ceremonies since 2017 so you're in safe hands, whether you're looking for someone to conduct a personal and dignified celebration of life or a warm and meaningful wedding or naming ceremony.

The privilege of being a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant is not lost on me and I absolutely adore the work that I do. I'm passionate, caring, warm, and engaging but I’m also organised, reliable and professional, helping you to create the right ceremony for whichever life event you are marking.

You have probably found yourself here looking for a celebrant, because Humanist values align with the way you choose to live your life. Humanism was something that I could relate to as well, something that fully reflected my values and attitudes. I’m passionate about people and the world we live in and I believe in equality and choice for all. I try to live life to the fullest and I'm never afraid to try new things. You only live once!

I am very lucky that my work as a celebrant keeps me busy and I do it full time, but when I have time off, I spend it with my family, doing the things that eight year old boys like to do. I also love to cook and bake (and subsequently eat) so I try to balance out the passion for food with long dog walks and trips to the gym.

Being a Humanist Celebrant is an absolute dream job but I've had more than one dream job in my lifetime so far! Before becoming a celebrant, I ran my own little vintage tearoom in the West End of Glasgow. I loved the social aspect of working in my tearoom and loved the sense of community. The people skills I took from the tearoom are absolutely what brought me to HSS Humanist celebrant work today.

So please read on below for more details on my approach to conducting different ceremonies, and if you have any questions, my contact details are at the bottom of the page.

Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies

If you are reading this, then I think that you are looking for someone wonderful to conduct your wedding ceremony or civil partnership! Hopefully, that person is me! I love weddings and I mean it sincerely when I say, what a privilege it is to be a part of a couple's big day.

I'll work with you, guiding you every step of the way, learning about both of you as individuals and as a couple, to create a wedding ceremony that is right for you both.

Music, poetry, readings and symbolic gestures, all can play a part in creating a ceremony that is unique to you, but ultimately I want to tell the story of you as a couple - that is where the magic happens.

I'm the celebrant for you if you are looking for someone who is light hearted, warm, expressive and creative.

The couples that I have worked with have commented on my warmth, sense of fun and ability to put them completely at ease making sure that they enjoy every moment of their wedding ceremony.

So, if you think that this all sounds great and I am the perfect Humanist to conduct your wedding ceremony, let's get together for a cuppa and a chat and take it from there!

Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies

Naming & Welcoming ceremonies are such a joy. What better reason is there for a get together than to welcome a new person to the family? These ceremonies can be conducted for babies, children and adults.

Every ceremony is unique to your family and everyone is welcome and included. Naming and welcoming ceremonies are a great way to emphasise the roles of older siblings, grandparents and guide parents.

You can expect one of my ceremonies to be fun, joyful, easy going and special. I am creative and love crafting a unique ceremony for families using songs, books, music, poetry and even games.

Funeral Ceremonies

Funerals are naturally a very difficult time for families. My role as a Humanist Celebrant of HSS is to try to make what is often a sad and stressful day, a little bit easier.
I work with the family to create a truly personal ceremony full of great stories and wonderful memories while conveying a true reflection of their loved one.
Every ceremony I create is as unique as the person. As a Humanist funeral is a celebration of life, we can include poetry, readings and music to ceremonies to create a ceremony that is appropriate to your family.
